We’re Thousand Trails Members!

After some research and reviewing (and boondocking around northern FL for the past few weeks), we stumbled upon an awesome campground membership for RVers called “Thousand Trails Camping Pass”.

We were skeptical at first, since it’s a pretty penny to purchase, but we bit the bullet and just became members to try it out for a year and let you guys know our experience.

So far, it’s been pretty awesome! I signed up no less than fifteen minutes ago, and called the number for reservations and got booked at a place (for NO ADDITIONAL FEE might I add)! The operator was very nice and it was one of the least painful RV reservation experiences we’ve had.

Now the membership did cost around $800 for the year because we purchased the “trail collection” membership as well, which gets you access to more campgrounds in the select “zones”.

So how it works is you go to this website (https://www.thousandtrails.com/membership-info)

Once you’re there, you can browse the different “zones” they have to see which ones most convenient for you. We picked the “South East” zone since we mostly camp around the east coast. But to our surprise when we were checking out, we were able to add another zone for FREE. So, of course, we did that too and got “North East” and paid the extra $50 and some change for the “South West” zone as well (just cause we get some business out west during the winter).

After you pick your zone, just enter your email at the bottom of the page and you’re off (to payment options)!

It was a really easy and two click process basically. We narrowed down the campsites that were closest to where we need to be in the winter at the moment (Jacksonville), and reserved one closest to Jax as we could get it; which was about an hour out.

The best part: NO FEES for most of the resorts! There are a few that cost $20/night to stay…but they’re normally around like $70-80/night (at least in FL), so it’s still a huge savings!

If you’ve got a Thousand Trails membership, we’d love to hear how you like it! Happy travels and we’ll update you once we check in to our resort!
